I thoroughly enjoy living in Texas, as I've shared more than once. The advantages of being able to put on sandals in February and plant in the ground in march more than cover for the occasional cool weather and triple digit August temperatures. Even though I'm considering a Colorado transfer, Texas is a wonderful place to live.
We've having a drought in Texas. Just like most of the rest of the world, but a drought at 105 degrees is just a little bit more irritating.
We're having a drought in north Texas, but we've had thunderstorms the past two days. Since my cell phone is set to receive alerts and warnings (weather and otherwise), at two this morning I was awakened by the sound of a traffic alarm next to my ear-to warn me about the flash flood risk.
Since we're having a drought in Texas and we had thunderstorms (before returning to drought conditions), the grass in the back yard eroded and the trees are in shock from the drastic weather issues-bark is coming off in droves.
Since we're having thunderstorms at night, I don't get to sleep. While I probably might be able to sleep through part of the storms, I have two four legged family members who roam around the house in a state of hyperactivity at the sound of rain, thunder and lightening (who knew a dog could burrow so deeply in my bed).
Finally, even if the weather was conducive go going outside.................we are having a West Nile Virus epidemic in the Dallas area and they are spraying from airplanes and trucks everywhere. Bug protection is a necessity, even on the patio.
This is where I act like the lady in the ad and say......................Calgon, take me away!!!!!!!!!!!!!
